JSW Posts 69% Growth in Crude Steel Production

JSW Steel Ltd. reported crude steel production of 502,000 tonnes for February 2010 compared to 297,000 tonnes in the corresponding month last fiscal year, up 69%.
 
The company achieved 5.42 million tonnes of crude steel production cumulatively up to February 2010 in the current fiscal year, a 61% increase over the corresponding period of last year.
 
Rolled flat products showed growth of 17%, with 299,000 tonnes produced in February 2010 vs. 257,000 tonnes last February. Rolled long products are up 227%—96,000 tonnes compared to last year’s 29,000 tonnes.
