JSW Steel Reports 18% Growth in Crude Steel for November
12/14/2011 - JSW Steel Limited reported crude steel production of 600,000 tonnes in November 2011, representing 18% growth compared to 507,000 tonnes in November 2010 and 5% sequentially.

The company also reported the production of 427,000 tonnes of flat rolled steel products in November 2011, representing 12% growth vs. 381,000 tonnes of flat rolled steel in November 2010, as well as 129,000 tonnes of long rolled steel products, representing 46% growth vs. 88,000 tonnes in November 2010.
During November, capacity utilization improved gradually to 68% at Vijayanagar works from an average utilization of 63% in October 2011 due to increased receipt of iron-ore supplies from E-auctions. The company noted that consistent availability of fairly priced iron ore is crucial to further maintain or improve the plant’s capacity utilization. The company has received 37% iron ore so far out of a total of 5.672 million tons of iron ore procured in E-auctions.
