Leybold Unveils Two New Roughing Pumps
06/30/2025 - Two new versions of oil-sealed rotary vane pumps for analytical applications, SOGEVAC SV55/70 BI2, have been launched by Leybold.
The company said the SOGEVAC BI2 has high pumping speed, low noise level and maintenance intervals of up to 24,000 hours in liquid or gas chromatography-mass spectrometry applications. This allows for maintenance free operation for up to 3 years.
"With the help of power consumption monitoring, users also have a real-time overview of the power consumption and pump temperature at all times," said Laurent Furrer, the product manager at Leybold. "The bottom line is that the new backing pumps consume up to 38% less electricity on average. CO2 emissions are also noticeably reduced.”
The packaging is made of recyclable, biodegradable material with shock indicators for pump protection. It features a hinged unloading ramp for easy and safe unpacking along with handles on the oil casing cover for easy and safe transportation.
"In terms of design, we have also achieved [more installation space] by integrating the permanent magnet motor and redesigning the oil casing. The pump volume and weight are almost divided by 2!"
