Mechel Changes Name of Subsidiary
10/01/2009 - The name of Mechel OAO’s subsidiary, Mechel Management OOO, has been changed to Mechel-Steel Management Co. OOO, effective September 14.
The name of Mechel OAO’s subsidiary, Mechel Management OOO, has been changed to Mechel-Steel Management Co. OOO, effective September 14. The move is in line with the reorganization of Mechel group’s asset management structure.
Mechel-Steel Management Co. OOO provides operational management of Mechel’s steel assets. Andrey Deineko is the company’s Chief Executive Officer.
Mechel group currently includes a number of management companies that are in charge of operational management of other divisions’ subsidiaries, such as Mechel Mining, Mechel Ferroalloys, Mechel Energo, and Mecheltrans.
Mechel is one of the leading Russian mining and metals companies. Its business includes four segments: mining, steel, ferroalloy, and power. The company unites producers of coal, iron ore concentrate, nickel, steel, ferrochrome, ferrosilicon, rolled products, hardware, heat and electric power.
