Metso to Evaluate Loading and Hauling Operations in Finland and Sweden
08/05/2025 - As part of Metso Corp.’s target to align with global businesses and have financial performance supporting its growth, it will review the future of its loading and hauling operations in Finland and Sweden.
Metso said it is planning to sell its loading and hauling operations to an external party. If they cannot find a buyer, they will consider discontinuing and winding down both the Finland and Sweden operations. The two operations have about 110 employees, mostly in Finland.
“We believe that the business’ value and future potential can be best realized under new ownership. We will work actively to identify the interested parties. During this process, it goes without saying that we will actively take care of our customer commitments,” said Saso Kitanoski, president of the consumables business area at Metso.
The company will start consultation processes at both locations today in accordance with each country’s legislation to address the planned changes and their potential impacts. Any decisions and further steps will only be taken after union negotiations have been completed.
The business has operations in Kokkola and Kalajoki, Finland, and in Luleå, Sweden. Production includes truck bodies, buckets and ground engaging tools for applications in mining and aggregates.
