ThyssenKrupp Steel Europe to Modernize Converter Plant and Waste-Heat Boiler at Duisburg-Bruckhausen

04 September 2013 - ThyssenKrupp Steel Europe is investing € 20 million in one of its core facilities in Duisburg. From 3 August to 17 September 2013 the company will be replacing the first of two converters and parts of the associated waste-heat boiler system at the Bruckhausen oxygen steelmaking plant (Ox 1).

St. Louis Cold Drawn Cited By OSHA After Worker Electrocuted

04 September 2013 - The U.S. Department of Labor's Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) has cited St. Louis Cold Drawn for 26 safety violations after a worker was electrocuted 15 May 2013 when he reached into an energized electrical panel box to retrieve work gloves stored in the box at the company's St. Louis steel bar manufacturing facility.

Severstal North America Announces Appointment of New CEO

03 September 2013 - Severstal, one of the world’s largest steel and mining companies, announced it has appointed Saikat Dey as chief executive officer of its subsidiary Severstal North America. Dey replaces Sergei Kuznetsov, who departed after four years as CEO of the company.
