Nippon Steel & Sumikin Stainless to Implement Broner System
11/01/2007 - Nippon Steel & Sumikin Stainless Steel will implement a Broner Metals Solutions Production Planning system at its Yawata plant in Japan.
Nippon Steel & Sumikin Stainless Steel Corp. (NSSC) has announced plans to implement a Broner Metals Solutions Production Planning system at its Yawata plant in Japan.
Broner’s Production Planner optimizes and balances the flow of material through the supply chain, taking into account inventories, equipment capacities, production cycles and process restrictions. Based on the inputs, the system creates a plan for the short to medium term that is based on actual and forecast demand. This leads to a more agile and responsive supply chain that helps to improve customer service.
Nippon Steel & Sumikin Stainless Steel Corp., Japan’s largest producer of stainless steel, will implement the Broner Production Planner module in order to become more responsive to customer requirements. The group’s objectives for implementing the Production Planner include increasing production adherence to the plan, and changing the organization’s business focus to a ‘due-date’ operation.
Nippon Steel & Sumikin Stainless Steel (NSSC) is a joint company of Nippon Steel Corp. and Sumitomo Metal Industries, Ltd, which was formed in 2003.
