NLMK Product Quality Complies with International Standards

Novolipetsk (NLMK) has passed a series of audits conducted by TÜV SÜD, the independent German certifying agency. TÜV SÜD experts examined the company’s overall Quality Management System (QMS), confirming its compliance with international standard ISO 9001:2008 Quality Management System – Requirements.
 
The experts also confirmed NLMK’s QMS in HRC production compliance with the European Council Directive 97/23/EG Pressure Equipment and Technical Regulations AD 2000 W, extending the scope of the certificate to incorporate carbon steel continuously cast slab production as per DIN EN 10 028. In addition, they confirmed that HRC production complies with Directive 89/106/EEC; NLMK received the right to use the CE mark on steel produced for the construction industry.
 
The auditors noted the successful QMS operation and improvements, as well as the regulatory base compliance with the requirements of ISO 9001:2008, European Council Directive 97/23/EC and Technical Regulations AD 2000 W, European Council Directive 89/106/EЕС.
 
The company’s QMS operation received a positive appraisal from the auditors; previously issued certificates were revalidated, and the certificate scope as per European Council Directive 97/23/EG was extended.
 
Novolipetsk is a world-class steel producer with operations spanning mining, steelmaking, and rolling. Its main production facilities in Lipetsk, at the center of European Russia, are within 350 km of Stoilensky, its main iron ore supplier, and close to key Russian customers and major transport routes. Last year, the company produced 11.5 million tonnes of steel.
