Parsytec to Provide Surface Inspection for SSAB Tunnplåt Slitting Line
05/30/2008 - ISRA Vision Parsytec AG will provide a surface inspection system for SSAB’s slitting line at their site in Tunnplåt, Sweden.
SSAB Tunnplåt, a member of the SSAB Svenskt Stål Group, has placed an order with ISRA Vision Parsytec AG for a surface inspection system. The new system will be installed on SSAB’s slitting line at their site in Tunnplåt, Sweden.
SSAB Tunnplåt is renowned as the largest steel sheet producer in Scandinavia and leading sheet producer in Europe. SSAB Tunnplåt’s addition of another surface inspection system will help the company to maintain its high quality standard even at increasing production outputs.
In addition to the hardware in bright-field configuration with digital CCD Matrix cameras, SSAB Tunnplåt has also ordered Parsytec’s state-of-the-art classifier software, the Classifier Build Environment (CBE). This tool enables a classifier to be built in a tenth of the previously required time as the number of images to look at is reduced by a factor of 100 or more. Optimum and fast classification results help to provide enhanced decision support at the line, allowing SSAB to take corrective countermeasures as needed and deliver shipments with the highest production quality.
The new installation follows a previous installation at the facility’s hot mill.
