PBS Coals Appoints New CEO
03/04/2010 - Coals Inc. recently appointed Lynn Shanks as CEO. He assumed the position on February 18.
PBS Coals Inc. recently appointed Lynn Shanks as CEO. He assumed the position on February 18.
Prior to joining PBS Coals, Shanks served as president at West Virginia-based Pocahontas Coal Co. and Carter Roag Coal Co., both subsidiaries of United Coal Co. He has also held high-level management positions at other coal companies in Kentucky, Ohio, and Pennsylvania.
“I am pleased to have Lynn Shanks join PBS Coals,” said Alexander Grubman, CEO of Severstal Resources. “For almost 30 years he has worked in both an operational and executive capacity in the sector and brings with him a vast wealth of knowledge. I’m excited to see what develops under Lynn’s leadership.”
Shanks earned a degree in Mining Technology from the University of Kentucky and is a member of the Pennsylvania Coal Association, Holmes Safety Association, and Pennsylvania Coal Board.
