Posco Delivers Haiti Relief Funds

Posco delivered relief funds of USD300,000 for Haiti to the Korean National Red Cross President Yoo Chong-ha on February 10, along with a KRW 78 million donation collected from 9447 employees in online contributions between January 22 and 28.

“We sincerely gathered these funds in hopes that we can at least be of little help to those suffering in Haiti due to the earthquake. As help is gathering from around the world, Haiti should be able to overcome this hardship soon,” said President Jong-tae Choi, who delivered the funds on behalf of Chairman Joon-yang Chung.

Separately, Posco also reduced the costs of the groundbreaking ceremony that took place in Alabama on January 28 and donated USD2000 to Haiti under the name of the client’s companies who participated in the ceremony.

Posco has continuously offered emergency kits domestically to regions such as Jeju Island, Ulleung-do Island, and Gangwon Province during difficult times caused by typhoons, as well as internationally to regions such as Pakistan, Indonesia, and Taiwan when suffering from natural disasters such as earthquakes and tsunamis.
