Posco Employees Help Drought-Stricken Village in Qingdao
08/01/2011 - Employees at Posco-CQPC recently visited a low-income settlement in the Cheng Yang, Sanshuiwee region in Qingdao to help residents repair their homes and village roads.
Employees at Posco-CQPC recently visited a low-income settlement in the Cheng Yang, Sanshuiwee region in Qingdao to help residents repair their homes and village roads.
The 42 employees at CQPC, which included Korean expatriates and local employees, visited the village after learning of their need for help. The village’s economy, which depends on growing fruit trees, is suffering from a severe drought and from a rural exodus.
The volunteers repaired the water pump to provide clean water for the villagers and picked up litter scattered near the stream and roads.
