Posco-South Asia Begins Operation
08/30/2010 - Posco-South Asia was officially launched in Bangkok, Thailand, on August 25 to help establish a global steel network in emerging markets of the Southeast Asia region, including Vietnam, Malaysia, and Indonesia, as well as Southwest Asia including India.
Posco-South Asia was officially launched in Bangkok, Thailand, on August 25 to lead Posco’s businesses in the Southwest Asia region.
The company is expected to serve a pivot role in establishing a global steel network in emerging markets of the Southeast Asia region, including Vietnam, Malaysia, and Indonesia, as well as Southwest Asia including India.
Posco-South Asia will oversee the sales and imports/exports that occur in the Southeast and Southwest regions, while carrying out various marketing activities for affiliates and employee education and training. The company will also provide support to Posco family companies to enter various business areas such as construction and energy in the regions.
The ceremony was attended by about 60 local political and management leaders including Korea Ambassador for Thailand Hae-mun Chung, Thailand’s Vice Minister Puttipong Punnakan of the Ministry of Industry, Vice Commissioner Hirunya Suchinai of the Board of Investment, Marketing General Manager Jung-seok Shin, and leaders from client companies such as Samsung Electronics, LG Electronics, Toyota, and Honda.
