Posco to Strengthen its Global Education Program
06/07/2010 - Posco opened a Posco Family Global Mini MBA program in association with the University of Hawaii at the end of last year. In August, the Global Capability Building Workshop will be hosted for factory managers at Gwangyang and Pohang Steelworks. Posco also recently launched the Cross-cultural Negotiation Development Program at the university.
Posco is strengthening its overseas education programs, in alignment with recent international business expansions.
Posco opened a Posco Family Global Mini MBA program in association with the University of Hawaii at the end of last year. Four weeks of the program covers basic MBA courses including management strategy, finance, and marketing, and is targeted for key talents at the assistant and acting manager levels. The second class will open in September. In August, the Global Capability Building Workshop will be hosted for factory managers at Gwangyang and Pohang Steelworks to improve international insight and leadership.
Posco also recently launched the Cross-cultural Negotiation Development Program, which targets 15 employees in charge of negotiations and M&A-related tasks at Posco, affiliates, and overseas subsidiaries. The program, which is being held from May 17 to June 10 at the University of Hawaii, will be hosted twice a year.

The program consists of three modules based on case studies: strategic negotiation skills, M&A strategy, and cross-cultural negotiation skills. Participants must submit their personal negotiation cases prior to the course and re-evaluate each of their cases during the course.
Posco plans to continue to develop education programs with prominent universities overseas to foster global talents, as well as expand joint education programs for employees of overseas subsidiaries and Posco family companies.
