PSI Awarded Contract from NLMK Subsidiary in Russia

PSI has been contracted by KSIEMP, a subsidiary of the Russian steel company NLMK, with the supply of the PSImetals solution as manufacturing execution system (MES) for their newly erected long-product plant in Vorsino in the Kaluga region.
 
The new long products plant, with an annual capacity of 1.5 million tonnes, comprises an electric-steel plant, eight-strand casting machine, and a rolling mill.
 
The PSImetals production management system will be delivered with varying components for the entire plant. Planning will enable the facility to optimize smelting in the steel mill, sequences in the casting machine, and campaigns and rolling order in the rolling mill. The PSImetals components Production & Quality will help to guarantee a high level of quality assurance and adherence to delivery deadlines. The PSImetals Logistics component supports materials and transportation logistics, from delivery of pre-products and charging to storage of semi-finished and finished products and shipping. PSImetals Energy provides comprehensive, efficient energy management.
