Rautaruukki has concluded its employer-employee negotiations related to the termination of spiral-welded gas pipe production at its Oulainen facility in Finland.
The talks had been initiated in early November following the company’s announcement that it would discontinue the production of spiral-welded line pipes, as they are not part of the company's core business.
Some 53 jobs have been reduced at the Oulainen plant as a result of the negotiations, with 18 of these reductions being carried out through pension arrangements.

Ruukki’s Oulainen facility will continue to manufacture spiral-welded line pipes for use in main water pipelines as well as the large piles and structural pipelines used in construction.
