Ruukki Engineering Awarded Multi-site Certification

Ruukki Engineering has received multi-site certification covering all of the Group's management systems at both the unit and divisional level.

Under Ruukki's integrated management system, the certification encompasses ISO 9001:2000 quality management certification, ISO 14001:2004 environmental management certification and ISO 3834-2 quality requirements for fusion welding of metallic materials. The audit process involved going through the descriptions and operation of the business processes in Ruukki Engineering's divisional management and in the units.

ISO 9001:2000 certification confirms that Ruukki Engineering’s quality management system has been certified in accordance with best practices and standards. In addition, the Group’s environmental management system conforms to the requirements of ISO 14001:2004 environmental management certification, whereas welding certification under ISO 3834-2 is testimony to quality welding operations.

“Multi-site certification benefits both customers and Ruukki” said Tommi Matomäki, President of Ruukki Engineering. “Customers can rely on Ruukki's ability to flexibly and competitively deliver products that meet the relevant quality requirements from any of the units in its manufacturing network.

“Certification is ideally suited to Ruukki's strategy, which highlights continuous development and improvement,” added Matomäki.

Certification was awarded by DNV Certification Oy, which is part of Det Norske Veritas Foundation and one of the best-known certification bodies in Finland and the rest of the world. DNV Certification Oy is an independent, third-party classification and certification company.
