Ruukki to Implement Management Appointments Effective March 1

Rautaruukki Corporation announced a number of management appointments that will take effect March 1, 2011.
 
The company appointed Kari Lehtinen MSc (Tech), 43, as Senior Vice President, Marketing and Emerging Markets and a member of the Extended Executive Board. Lehtinen will also continue his present position as Senior Vice President, Sales in Ruukki Metals until further notice.
 
The company also appointed Toni Hemminki MSc (Tech), 35, as Senior Vice President, Technology, Energy and Environment and a member of the Extended Executive Board. Hemminki is currently Vice President, Energy and Environment at Ruukki.
 
Ruukki's present Chief Technology Officer, Markku Koljonen will retire at the end of August 2011.
 
In addition to his current responsibilities, Chief Information Officer Ismo Platan will assume responsibility for supply chain management.
 
In addition, the company said that Saku Sipola, Executive Vice President, Marketing, Technology and Supply Chain Management and a member of the Corporate Executive Board, will leave Ruukki at the end of February to take up a position with another company.
 
Rautaruukki supplies metal-based components, systems and integrated systems to the construction and engineering industries, including a wide selection of metal products and services. Rautaruukki has operations in 27 countries and employs 11,700 people. Net sales in 2010 totaled EUR 2.4 billion. The corporation uses the marketing name Ruukki.
