SAIL Finance Director Recognized with Excellence Award
12/24/2009 - Steel Authority of India Ltd. Director (Finance) Shri Soiles Bhattacharya was conferred with the GSBA- Top Rankers Excellence Award 2009 under the Best Finance Professional category at a recent function held in New Delhi.
Steel Authority of India Ltd. (SAIL) Director (Finance) Shri Soiles Bhattacharya was conferred with the GSBA- Top Rankers Excellence Award 2009 under the Best Finance Professional category at a recent function held in New Delhi.
Shri Saugata Roy, Union Minister of State for Urban Development, presented the award to Bhattacharya in recognition of his “multi-faceted entrepreneurial skills” and for his contribution in helping SAIL register new landmarks in physical and financial performance.
During the economic downturn in 2008-09, Bhattacharya helped SAIL to earn a profit before tax of Rs. 9,403 crore. Under Bhattacharya’s guidance, SAIL and its plants both at corporate and unit categories received various awards for excellence in cost management in the manufacturing sector for 2008.
Instituted by management consultants Top Rankers, in association with the Graduate School of Business and Administration (GSBA), Greater Noida, the GSBA- Top Rankers Excellence Award is conferred annually to top industry professionals for their outstanding contribution in the fields of human resources, marketing, and finance.
