Second Posco-VHPC Factory Starts Processing

Posco has opened the second factory of Posco-VHPC; the first Posco-VHPC factory opened in March 2008 to provide high-quality steel-processing service in the Vietnamese market.

With the new processing center in operation, Posco-VHPC will have 150,000 tonnes of production capability.

The Vietnamese stainless steel market is growing by an average of 15% a year, according to Posco. The company cites estimates stating that in 2012 there will be demand equivalent to 160,000 tonnes of cold-rolled stainless steel products in Vietnam alone.

Posco expects that there will also be an increasing demand for high-quality stainless steel products in the market. The company envisions Posco-VHPC becoming the sales center for Posco-Vietnam’s cold-rolled and stainless steel products in Southeast Asia.

Before the opening ceremony, Posco announced that rice bags and grocery goods would be accepted as donations at the event to help out needy families. The presents will be delivered to more than 200 financially challenged people in Long Thos and Phuoc An areas.
