Senator Says Steel Allowed Him to Walk Away From Car Crash
10/24/2016 - Say what you will about aluminum-bodied vehicles, but U.S. Sen. Sherrod Brown, who was in a traffic accident last week, will say this about the ones made from steel:
"I can tell you without a doubt that my Jeep Cherokee, made with American steel by union workers in Toledo (Ohio) made all the difference in allowing us to walk away from this crash, a little stiff, but unharmed," the Ohio Democrat told the online publication cleveland.com.
According to the publication, the accident occurred 20 October in Parma, Ohio, as Brown and a staffer were heading home. The publication said a driver in another vehicle ran a stop sign and collided with Brown's Jeep.
Brown and staffer Will Young were taken to a local hospital and were treated and released.
