In a press release, Danieli Centro Combustion announced that it will outfit the mill with a 400-metric-ton test oven, gas treatment section and post-combustion system. The test oven will utilize a stamp charging process as well as an emissions-reducing dry quenching system.
 
Severstal plans to use the new oven as a testing ground for experimental varieties of coal burdens, with the goal to develop more advanced and efficient coke formulations.
