SKF Tops List for Corporate Responsibility

SKF has received a top score for its environmental and human rights work, as shown in the Folksam Corporate Responsibility Index for 2009.

For the fourth consecutive year, SKF is placed first for its environmental efforts. This year, the company says it has the highest score when the index for environment and human rights are combined.

“We are proud of the result, which is an acknowledgement of our commitment and continuous work within sustainability,” said Bengt Olof Hansson, Vice President, Group Human Resources and Sustainability.

The index, introduced in 2006, is a summary of how all companies listed on the Swedish Stock Exchange OMX present their work within areas such as reducing energy consumption, recycling, reduction of carbon dioxide emissions, efforts within health and safety, diversity in the workplace, collective rights of negotiations, and human rights among suppliers.

Folksam is a Swedish insurance company and one of the largest investment companies in Sweden.
