SMS Demag Commissions BOF Dust Collection System at JSW Steelworks
08/05/2008 - SMS Demag successfully commissions a secondary dust collection system for Jindal South West Steel Limited’s BOF steelworks in India.
SMS Demag AG has successfully commissioned a secondary dust collection system for Jindal South West Steel Limited’s BOF steelworks in India.
With an extraction capacity of 1.6 million cubic meters per hour, the new system captures all of the diffuse dust emissions from JSW Steel’s BOF Steelworks No. 1. The dust-laden air is then efficiently cleaned in a powerful filter house with the aid of fabric bag filters.
Originally supplied by SMS Demag and located in Toranagallu in the Indian federal state of Karnataka, the steelworks comprises three 150-tonne converters, a primary dust collection system, and a converter gas recovery system.
At the same facility, SMS Demag is currently erecting a second oxygen steelworks, with continuous slab casters, for JSW Steel.
