The project will equip the 38-year-old caster, which SMS group originally supplied in 1981, with a variety of new features, including hydraulic resonance oscillation and SMS group’s High-Definition Laser Aligning System, its digital mold-alignment assistant.

The scope of work includes installation of the hydraulic resonance oscillator,  a new machine head with mold, and installation segment 0, which will be mounted in the machine head. 

The revamp will take place during a scheduled outage in October 2020.
