Steel Caucus Urges Buy American Provisions in Infrastructure Plan
04/19/2021 - Any infrastructure and economic recovery bills must include domestic procurement provisions, especially for sourcing steel, the Congressional Steel Caucus has written in a letter to Congressional leadership, reports The Times newspaper of northwest Indiana.
“Rebuilding our infrastructure starts with a commitment to American workers. Buy America is a common-sense commitment to our critical domestic industries, including steel and manufacturing, that provide family-supporting jobs in districts like mine instead of sending them overseas to China,” caucus co-chairman Conor Lamb, D-Pennsylvania, said in the letter.
