SAIL Achieves Record Turnover in Fiscal Third Quarter
17 January 2011 - The Steel Authority of India Limited reported record gross sales turnover of Rs. 12,276.81 crore for its fiscal third quarter ended December 31, a growth of 17.5% over the corresponding period last year. SAIL’s turnover for the first nine months of FY ’11 was Rs. 33,905.40 crore, 9.6% higher than CPLY of FY ’10.

Metinvest Reports Steel Production for December, Full Year 2010
12 January 2011 - Metinvest reported the production of 1.098 million tonnes of hot metal in December, a 7.1% increase over December 2009’s tonnage. The company also produced 1.282 million tonnes of steel (+7.8%), 1.171 million tonnes of rolled products (+16.4%), and 55,700 tonnes of large-diameter pipe (+39.7%).

11 January 2011 - Metinvest reported the production of 2.843 million tonnes of iron ore concentrate in December 2010, a 1.9% decrease from the previous month’s tonnage. For the full year, the company produced 35.726 million tonnes of iron ore concentrate, a 16.6% increase vs. the previous year (2009).
