24 July 2013 - Based on preliminary Census Bureau data, the American Iron and Steel Institute (AISI) reported that the U.S. imported a total of 2,442,000 tons of steel in June, including 1,956,000 tons of finished steel (down 14% and 9%, respectively, vs. May final data).

U.S. Agency Votes to Keep Antidumping Duties on Rebar Imports for Another Five Years
13 June 2013 - The U.S. International Trade Commission voted to not allow antidumping duties on rebar imports from Belarus, China, Indonesia, Latvia, Moldova, Poland, and Ukraine to expire, or sunset, so the duties will remain in place for another five years.

10 April 2013 - The American Institute for International Steel (AIIS) is urging Congress to action on a pressing need to pass the Water Resources Development Act, with a particular focus on the provision that would require the full expenditure of funds collected under the Harbor Maintenance Fee (HMF) for the purpose for which it has always been intended — dredging and maintenance of the country's blue and brown water ports.
