Shareholders Approve Merger of Nippon Steel & Sumitomo Metal Industries
26 June 2012 - Nippon Steel and Sumitomo Metal Industries obtained approval at their respective annual shareholders' meetings regarding their merger agreement; as a result, the businesses will integrate and form Nippon Steel & Sumitomo Metal Corporation as of 1 October 2012.
