Mechel Reports Temporary Suspension of Steelmaking Facilities in Romania and Ukraine

26 November 2012 - Mechel OAO reported the temporary halting of production at its Donetsk Electrometallurgical Plant (DEMZ), part of Mechel’s steel division, and a schedule for temporary suspension of production at the group’s Romanian steelmaking facilities, in both cases due to unfavorable conditions on markets of raw materials and finished steel products.

MMK Metalurji Halts EAF and Hot Rolling Facilities for 90 Days

22 November 2012 - MMK Metalurji announced that its EAF and hot rolling facilities in Iskenderun, Turkey, were halted for a period of up to 90 days. In the meantime, the plant’s cold rolling mill, galvanizing and color coating lines remain operational at the current high capacity levels.
