Survey: Coronavirus Pushes Chinese Mills to Consider Curtailments
02/18/2020 - Market impacts from the coronavirus outbreak have prompted roughly one-third of Chinese steel producers to consider production curtailments, according to a survey published by commodities news and price reporting service S&P Global Platts.
Based on the Platts survey of 26 companies, 35% of respondents said that they already had cut production or were considering that action due softening demand, rising inventories and raw materials shortages.
