Tata Steel Reports Production Increases for February
03/09/2010 - Tata Steel posted February increases in its hot metal (+13.5%), crude steel (+13%), and saleable steel (+0.4%) production compared to the corresponding month last year.
Tata Steel posted February increases in its hot metal (+13.5%), crude steel (+13%), and saleable steel (+0.4%) production compared to the corresponding month last year.
February 2010 production figures include 587,000 tonnes for hot metal (vs. 517,000 tonnes in 2009); 527,000 tonnes for crude steel (compared to 466,000 tonnes last year); and 500,000 tonnes for saleable steel (vs. 498,000 tonnes a year ago).
The company achieved 6.6 million tonnes of hot metal, 6.0 million tonnes of crude steel, and 5.86 million tonnes of saleable steel production cumulatively up to February 2010 in the current fiscal year, increases of 17%, 18%, and 22% respectively compared to the corresponding period last year.
The company achieved sales of 5.54 million tonnes cumulatively up to February 2010 in the current fiscal year, showing growth of 22% vs. last year.
