Tayiuan Iron & Steel Goes Live with Broner Scheduling Solution

Taiyuan Iron and Steel Ltd (Tisco) has gone live with a Broner Scheduling solution at its plant in TaiYuan city, ShanXi province, China.

Broner said that Tisco, a leading stainless and carbon steel manufacturer in China, will use the Broner Caster Scheduler, Melt Shop Control Centre and Schedule Editor modules. The modules will help the company measure and manage its main KPIs, improve visibility of the production process, and better adhere to plans.

The caster scheduler module will perform planning and scheduling for Tisco’s continuous casters, and will help the company maximize productivity of the team responsible for caster and hot mill schedules by creating more accurate schedules, faster.

Tisco will use the meltshop control centre to schedule and control steel production. It is configured to cover a wide range of different process phases from hot metal production, steelmaking and secondary metallurgy to casting and ladle management. The modules will also help Tisco to achieve greater production visibility, reduce delivery times, and improve the reliability of its delivery dates.

The project, which took 7 months to implement, spanned three casters and involved integration with the plants existing ERP and manufacturing execution systems.

We believe that Broner modules will fulfill the requirements and expectations that were set prior to the implementation, and will help us to maintain and further improve a high level of customer service,” said Nie Haifeng, Tisco’s Project Manager.
