According to Tenova, the new roller hearth furnace is being designed to bright anneal austenitic stainless steel and nickel-based alloy pipes at a rate of 2,000 kg/hour. The system also will feature a 100% hydrogen gas atmosphere for heat treating.

“This extremely flexible furnace type is characterized by uniform heating, a definable holding time and subsequent material-specific cooling. The high-temperature uniformity and the low energy consumption of these systems ensure reproducible processes, which can be precisely adapted to the desired heat treatment of the material,” Tenova said in a statement. 

Tenova will be responsible for installation and oversee commissioning.
