Tenova Strip Processing Completes New Silicon Line for NLMK

Tenova Strip Processing recently received acceptance from NLMK, Russia, for its grain-oriented silicon steel strip heat flattening line in Lipetsk. The official acceptance brought the trial phase to a successful conclusion following several weeks of rigorous testing.

Tenova Strip Processing developed the innovative technology that was implemented on the line and completed the project in cooperation with Tenova LOI Italimpianti of Genoa, which supplied the complete furnace.

The heat flattening line performs the final treatment on the grain oriented strip and has to provide the leveling of the strip maintaining the steel’s magnetic characteristics. Grain oriented steel is normally used in the magnetic core of high performance (low-loss) transformers.

Tenova also has several other projects currently underway with NLMK, including three more lines in Lipetsk and one for its Vizstal factory.

Tenova designs and supplies advanced technologies, products and services for the metal and mining industries. Tenova operates close to its customers through a network of 33 companies based on the five continents.
