Nov. 30, 2006 — United States Steel Corp. announced three key personnel changes involving key management positions at the Edgar Thomson Plant, Clairton Works, and U.S. Steel Headquarters. The changes take affect Dec. 1.

The company has named Anton Lukac as Plant Manager of the Edgar Thomson Plant; Lisa A. Roudabush as Plant Manager of Clairton Works; and Anton Jura as General Manager of Processed Products. Lukac and Roudabush will report to Mon Valley Works General Manager Mark D. Whalen, and Jura will report to Senior Vice President—Commercial J. James Kutka.

Steel Chief Operating Officer John H. Goodish. “Lisa Roudabush, Anton Lukac and Anton Jura bring a wealth of domestic and global experience and a history of excellence in managing some of U. S. Steel's most important operations.”

In his new position, Lukac, 46, will be responsible for the day-to-day operation of the Edgar Thomson Plant, Mon Valley Works' primary operations. Edgar Thomson has two blast furnaces, a basic oxygen process (BOP) steelmaking shop and a continuous slab caster, and produces about 2.9 million tons of steel per year.

Lukac graduated from Technical University in Kosice, Faculty of Mechanical Engineering. He began his career at VSZ a.s. in 1982 as a technologist in the cold rolling mill. Over the next 16 years, he progressed through increasingly responsible positions in a variety of departments including microelectronics, technical development, engineering and finance and controlling. He also served as Project Manager for a VSZ–U. S. Steel joint venture in 1998-1999 and was then named Chairman of VSZ OCEL, a steel manufacturing company in VSZ Group, and Vice President of Technology for VSZ.

When USSK was created in November 2000, Lukac was named Vice President for Strategic Implementation and reported directly to USSK's President. In that position, he was responsible for USSK's pipe and heating radiator operations, had oversight for 18 USSK domestic and foreign subsidiaries, supported regional development through the Economic Development Center, and led USSK's due diligence teams in exploring new business opportunities for U. S. Steel in Europe. In July 2003, Lukac moved with his family to the United States when he was appointed plant manager of U. S. Steel's Clairton Works near Pittsburgh.

Roudabush, 45, succeeds Lukac as Plant Manager of Clairton Works. In her new position, she will be responsible for managing coking and coal chemical operations at the largest and most environmentally progressive by-product coke plant in the Western Hemisphere. Prior to her appointment, Roudabush served as General Manager—Processed Products.

Roudabush began working at U. S. Steel in 1982 when she served as a student co-op at the Research and Technology Center and was hired as a Management Associate there upon completion of her bachelor of science degree in metallurgical engineering at Carnegie Mellon University. She held increasingly responsible positions at the Tech Center and in 1994, was transferred to the Quality Assurance Department at Gary Works as Manager of Technology Planning. She advanced through several different quality assurance and product technology positions at Gary Works before returning to Pittsburgh in 2000 as Manager—Process Technology at Mon Valley Works. In 2003, she was named General Manager—Research, with responsibility for the company's applied research, development and technical support functions at the Research and Technology Center in Monroeville, Pa. In November 2004, she was appointed to her most recent position, General Manager—Processed Products.

In addition to her degree from Carnegie Mellon, Roudabush has completed graduate-level work in metallurgical engineering and engineering management at the University of Pittsburgh.

Jura, 41, will move from Kosice, Slovakia, to Pittsburgh, Pa., to succeed Roudabush as General Manager—Processed Products, U. S. Steel's recently developed centralized sheet products processing and delivery operation.

Jura graduated from the Technical University in Kosice, Faculty of Metallurgy in 1987 and began his career at VSZ the same year. He held increasingly responsible positions at the metallurgical ceramics plant and VSZ Keramika over the next nine years. In June 1996, he was named to the executive board of VSZ a.s. and concurrently served as Vice President for Strategy. In April 1998, Jura became Director of the joint venture VSZ-U. S. Steel, s.r.o. When U. S. Steel acquired VSZ, he was appointed Vice President for Human Resources at USSK. In July 2003, he was appointed to his most recent position, Vice President for Strategic Implementation.

Between 1996 and 2000, Jura participated in the Weekend Executive Master of Business Administration course at the University of Pittsburgh's Graduate School of Business and earned a master's degree.
