UEC IT Completes Order Fulfillment System for Republic

Feb. 2, 2007 — UEC IT has completed implementation of a new Order Fulfillment System (OFS) for Republic Engineered Products.

UEC IT installed its OFS at all six Republic manufacturing facilities, as well as at the company’s Fairlawn, Ohio, headquarters. The new system will permit Republic to manage its entire business process, from order entry through invoicing.

“This OFS installation is our most notable implementation to date, incorporating all standard OFS functionality in addition to auto-transmit of customer required documents; hand-held scanning technology, standard AIAG shipping tags, custom internal bar coded tags, and integration with Republic’s i2 suite and financial application,” said Gerald A. Dixon, UEC IT’s President. “This OFS implementation also integrates with melt and shop floor systems to receive and transmit order requirements, metallurgical data, scheduling sequence information and mill production data.”

Dixon noted that Republic’s outside processors also use the Republic OFS application.

This project was implemented within two years of the order date. UEC says the Republic/UEC relationship will continue through UEC IT’s ongoing development support and maintenance of OFS.

UEC IT designs and implements order-to-cash systems for metals producers. Its flagship product, UEC IT’s Order Fulfillment System (OFS), is the ERP solution used by integrated, mini and specialty producers worldwide to reduce inventories and cycle time as well as to improve on-time delivery performance. UEC IT’s OFS application is developed and implemented by steel industry specialists.
