UMECC Switches to Operator-Led Ownership, Strengthens U.S. Operations
02/17/2026 - U.S.-based supplier to the steel, energy and heavy industrial markets UMECC announced it has transitioned to operator-led ownership, named industrial operator Adam Salmen its chief executive officer and is strengthening its operations in North America.
The company said the ownership change was due to succession planning and wanting to strengthen its operating strategy to better serve its North American industrial customers.
“Our focus is on building a durable, U.S.-anchored industrial platform that serves customers for the long term. That means local leadership, accountable governance and the ability to support increasingly complex industrial supply chains,” said Salmen.
UMECC said that its key executive roles are now based in the U.S. and it is focusing on serving customers across North and South America. This structure allows for a hybrid model which maintains global manufacturing and supplier relationships while engineering support, regulatory alignment, customer engagement and strategic control remain local.
Among its U.S. workforce, multiple leadership and commercial positions have been added within the domestic engineering, operations and technical sales categories. With emphasis on localized leadership and operational authority, those teams took on more responsibilities in engineering leadership, project execution and customer-facing roles, the company said.
