V&M Grants Acceptance Certificate for Tenova Heat Treat Furnace

The hardening furnace in the 26-inch heat treatment line has a nominal hourly capacity of 50 tonnes of pipes with different diameters and thickness heated up to approx 950 °C. As part of the modernization, Tenova updated the furnace profile with latest technology for this type of installation, including improvement of combustion with the installation of Low-NOx–High-Speed-Burners above and below the charge that can be operated with natural gas and preheated air. Tenova LOI Italimpianti also installed a modern DCS-type control system.
 
The upgraded furnace was put back into production earlier than scheduled, following three weeks of shutdown. Tenova noted that all performance targets — including heat consumption, temperature uniformity, increased production rate, reduction of the pollutant emissions, etc. — have been reached or exceeded the guarantees.
