Vietnam Government Awards Investment Certificate to China Steel, Sumitomo

05/19/2009 - China Steel, Sumitomo Metal Industries, and other partners successfully obtain an investment certificate from Vietnam’s Ba Ria-Vung Tau Province for construction of China Steel Sumikin Vietnam Joint Stock Company, an advanced steel sheet project.

China Steel Corp., Sumitomo Metal Industries, Ltd. and others have successfully obtained an investment certificate issued from Ba Ria-Vung Tau Province for the construction of China Steel Sumikin Vietnam Joint Stock Company, an advanced steel sheet project.
 
China Steel Sumikin Vietnam Joint Stock Company is to produce a full lineup of high-class steel sheet products, including automotive sheet products. The facility is to be designed to support demand from customers in Vietnam and surrounding countries.

The parties had been jointly requesting investment approval from the Vietnam government.
