Voith Turbo Celebrates 50th Anniversary in the U.S.
06/03/2025 - Voith Turbo hosted a celebration in York, Pa., to commemorate the company’s 50 years of operations in the U.S. and recognize those who made it possible.
“A 50-year celebration is a rare moment to pause and recognize the collective contributions that have brought us to this moment,” said Ralf Dreckmann, president of Voith Turbo, North America.
Voith Turbo began U.S. operations in 1975 in Appleton, Wis. The company then moved to Allendale, N.J., in 1979 and to York, Pa., in 1987. As their operations grew, they opened additional workshops in Sacramento, Calif., and Houston, Texas.
In 2024, the York, Pa., location celebrated a US$6 million workshop expansion due to an increase in rail business where Buy America compliance is an important component, the company said.
“We want to thank our employees for their loyalty, hard work, and shared vision as well as our customers who make our business possible. Our 50 years of success sends a powerful message about Voith Turbo’s dedication to operating in the U.S.,” Dreckman said.
The company said its U.S. operations specialize in the design, assembly and service of high-performance power transmission equipment. They also specialize in solutions for various industries including power, oil and gas, energy, mining, commercial vehicles, rail and marine.
