16 March 2012 - Zhangjiagang Hongchang Plate Co. Ltd. has awarded Siemens VAI Metals Technologies an order to supply two twin-ladle furnaces for its new converter steelworks in the city of Zhangjiagang in Jiangsu Province. Both secondary metallurgical facilities are scheduled for commissioning in spring 2013.

15 March 2012 - Dead Sea Works Ltd. has awarded ThyssenKrupp GfT Bautechnik GmbH a contract to seal a dam in the southern Dead Sea. The contract includes delivery of some 38,000 tonnes of sheet piles and around 17,000 tonnes of pipe.

Posco Completes Construction of Stainless Cold Mill in Vietnam

13 March 2012 - Posco recently completed the construction of an annual 150,000-tonne scale stainless cold-rolled factory within the Nhon Trach Industrial Complex located near Ho Chi Minh. Posco plans to install an additional rolling machine by 2015 to increase annual production to 285,000 tonnes.

Harsco Awarded New Contract for Alfa Acciai Mill in Brescia

12 March 2012 - Harsco Corp. has been awarded a new six-year contract for steel mill services at Alfa Acciai Group’s Brescia steel mill in northern Italy. Harsco will develop and manage a new scrap yard and provide services for processing the mill’s EAF slag.
